This project helps democracy groups understand how authoritarianism works in their state. The Horizons Project created a research tool that maps four key groups that support authoritarianism: businesses, faith groups, civic groups, and veterans groups. Pro-democracy organizers can use this mapping process to better understand threats in their state and plan how to fight back. The tool helps groups see who has power and how to build relationships to protect democracy. Organizations can copy this process to study their own state and connect with similar efforts across the country.
