Artist Boat offers free guided tours of Galveston beaches every Saturday and Sunday during summer. Tour guides teach visitors about sea plants called sargassum and how they help ocean life. You'll learn about marine pollution and how to protect beaches. Tours happen at East Beach near Lifeguard Stand #1. Each tour lasts 45 minutes and takes up to 15 people. Tours run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. You need to register online ahead of time. Look for guides wearing bright orange shirts with wagons and buckets.
