3Open a Charitable FundCalifornia Community Foundation helps people start their own charitable funds to give money to causes they care about. You can open a fund with at least $25,000 and get tax benefits while supporting your favorite charities over time. The foundation has 100 years of experience helping donors make a difference in their communities. They handle all the paperwork and administration so your giving is easy and effective. You fill out a simple form, work with their staff to finalize your agreement, and then fund your account to start making grants.
Civic Engagement ProgramsThe California Community Foundation helps people in Los Angeles County learn about voting and get involved in their community. They teach residents how to register to vote, understand important issues like housing and healthcare, and speak up to local government leaders. The foundation works with over 115 community organizations to make sure everyone's voice is heard, especially people who haven't had much power before. They offer voter education, leadership training, community events, and help people advocate for better policies in their neighborhoods.
Free Meeting Space for NonprofitsThe California Community Foundation offers free meeting rooms at the Joan Palevsky Center for nonprofits whose work helps Los Angeles County. The modern conference space is meant for meetings that bring different groups together to solve community problems. It's not for regular business meetings, board meetings, or fundraising events. You can book the space Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. You need to ask one month ahead of time. To reserve a room, email Brittany Polk at bpolk@calfund.org.
