Beautify the Bucket Art Contest

About This Event

Each spring, Artist Boat invites people of all ages to decorate trash barrels that will be placed on Galveston beaches. You pick up a bucket starting March 16, paint it with ocean-themed art, and return it by May 27. Choose from five themes: Ocean & Bay Organisms, Marine Debris, Coastal Ecosystems, Galveston Beach & Bay Recreation, or Houston Ship Channel. Winners are announced June 6 at the World Ocean Day Festival at East Beach. Registration is first-come, first-served through May 1. Your decorated barrel becomes part of the beach, helping remind people to keep the coast clean and protect marine life.
